The Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) give social housing tenants the right to access information about how their homes and housing services are managed.  

STAIRs is a Government scheme designed to improve transparency and accountability across the social housing sector.

The STAIRS information has been available on our website for some time, but we've now brought everything together in one place under STAIRS, making it easier for you to find the information you need.

It helps customers better understand how housing providers make decisions, deliver services and invest in their homes and communities.   

The information covered by STAIRs is already available across our website. To make it easier to find, we have organised information into the categories required by the scheme.

The scheme is being introduced in two stages:    

• From 1 October 2026, housing associations must routinely publish key information about how they operate and manage their homes.  
• From 1 April 2027, customers will be able to request specific information relating to the management of their housing, and housing providers will normally be required to respond within 30 calendar days.
