Stay safe in the extreme heat

The UK is currently experiencing very high temperatures. While warm weather can be enjoyable, extreme heat can affect our health and wellbeing.

Here are some tips to stay heat safe:

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day
  • Keep curtains or blinds closed on sunny windows
  • Avoid being outside during the hottest part of the day (11am-3pm)
  • Wear loose, light clothing and use sunscreen outdoors
  • Take regular breaks in a cool or shaded place
  • Check on people who may be more vulnerable, such as older adults or young children

Take care of yourself and those around you while the temperatures remain high. If you experience feeling unwell, call 111 for medical advice.
