Rural Housing Week 2026

As Rural Housing Week 2026 comes to a close, we're reflecting on the stories we've shared this week and the importance of ensuring local people can continue to live in the communities they know and love.

Pictured below are two of our customers, Linda and her neighbour Patrick, both proud to call one of our most rural communities, Tarporley, home.

For Patrick, who has lived in the area all his life and works locally, staying in Tarporley was incredibly important. Like many people living in rural communities, he found that a lack of affordable housing meant many options would have taken him away from his job, family, friends and support network.

Today, Patrick is part of a close-knit community where neighbours look out for one another. Whether it's stopping for a chat or lending a helping hand, he is always happy to support those around him, including his neighbour Linda.

"One of the things I value most is being part of a supportive community. I'm always happy to stop for a chat with my neighbours and, whenever I can help someone out, I'm more than willing to lend a hand. Having the opportunity to stay in Tarporley means everything to me."

Stories like Patrick and Linda's remind us that affordable rural housing is about helping people stay connected to their roots, supporting local communities to thrive, and ensuring future generations have the opportunity to remain in the places they call home.
