Two-child limit is ending - what this means for you

From 6 April 2026, the two‑child limit is ending.

This means Universal Credit will include money for every child you are responsible for, no matter how many children you have or when they were born.

If you already get Universal Credit, your payments may go up and some families who don’t get Universal Credit now may be able to claim for the first time.
