New Road Development Update
Ten houses and 36 apartments were built on the site during the first phase of the development, but sadly work had to be paused when the contracted developer went into administration. Work will now get underway again thanks to the successful appointment of contractors M&Y Maintenance and Construction, who will complete the development.
Work to complete a further 27 high-quality affordable rent apartments will begin in the next couple of weeks, with this phase delivering 15 one-bedroom and 12 two-bedroom flats on the site of the former pub. The development is supported by £1.9 million funding from Homes England with completion earmarked for Autumn 2025.
Once finished, the scheme will bring a total of 73 affordable rent homes to Winsford and revitalise this picturesque riverside location into a welcoming and accessible space for local residents to enjoy.
