Government testing alarm 7th September
The UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm.
Your phones and tablets will receive an alert and make a loud siren-like sound. Don't worry, you don't have to do anything, it's just a test.
The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if there’s a danger to life nearby, like extreme weather. Testing it makes sure it's working, in case it needs to be used in a life-threatening emergency.
