Staff from Weaver Vale Housing joined volunteers for a litter pick as part of the Great British Spring Clean campaign.
A total of 33 bags of rubbish were collected across the Grange estate, including children’s toys, metal poles, coffee cups and beer cans.
Staff from the Trust also handed out litter pickers to residents living on the estate, and asked for feedback about its grounds maintenance service.
Staff from Idverde, the Trust’s grounds maintenance contractor, as well as pupils from Hebden Green Community School also took part the event, which was held as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s campaign to reduce litter, encourage recycling and improve the environment.
Julia Chambres, Contract Manager for Open Spaces & Environmental Services at Weaver Vale Housing Trust said:
“This is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure that our customers feel positive about their homes and neighbourhoods. It was great to see volunteers getting involved, we have had positive feedback and we will be looking for opportunities to plan similar events in the future. It has been a great success and I would like to thank everyone involved.”
