COVID-19 has understandably had a significant effect on the lives of our customers, which has impacted the ability of some to pay rent and access help and benefits. Our Income Management Team has seen an unprecedented demand for their specialist advice. Specifically they have seen a spike in new Universal Credit enquiries that mirrors the increase nationally.
In the last few weeks our Income Management Team carried out over 5000 contacts with customers to discuss issues relating to rent and benefits. In the last week of April the team made 900 calls to customers offering help, advice and support.
Our dedicated Income Management Team, which also includes our Money Matters Team, are working tirelessly with our customer in order to make contact and agree manageable payment plans and advice on universal credit access.
