National Apprentice Week runs from 5th-9th March and during the week employers and apprentices from across England will come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships whilst encouraging even more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a great career.
Today we will be hearing from Dylan our past apprentice and his journey.
"I joined the trust upon completion of my college course. As several of my friends left for University, I felt that life wasn’t for me and wanted to get into the world of work.
I applied and was successful in becoming the Income Management Teams new apprentice. It wasn’t long before I got to know the fantastic team and they helped me to settle in quickly. I have made a lot of new friends through the Trust whilst only being here for about 18 months. Time has flown by. I was an apprentice for over a year and came a time I felt I needed to push myself and secure a full-time position.
I worked hard and from the apprenticeship I acquired the necessary skills to do what I do now – Income Recovery Officer. The apprenticeship was a really good introduction into office life and has helped my confidence grow substantially. I have completed a level 3 NVQ in Business Administration which has enabled me to do my job to an even higher standard. I hope to grow more within this wonderful organisation and make a positive impact everyday."
