M&Y Maintenance & Construction partner with the Trust

In late 2020, M&Y was awarded the contract in partnership with Weaver Vale Housing Trust to develop 11 affordable homes in Springfield Avenue, Helsby. The scheme is part of the Trusts’ ambition to deliver 450 new homes across the region over the next three years.

For every contract delivered, M&Y pledge to enhance communities in all locations they work via social value initiatives to leave long-lasting positive impacts. As part of M&Y’s commitment to the local area, they have donated over £2,000 towards Weaver Vale Housing Trusts’ internal programme, Raising Aspirations.

The Raising Aspirations fund gives Weaver Vale Housing Trust staff the chance to nominate a resident they feel could benefit from the fund. The funding must be in connection with employment, education, or training opportunities. In recent months, M&Y’s donation has been utilised to support residents with driving lessons, purchasing a new bike for a resident so they can commute to work, and work clothes.

Gill Kelly, Managing Director at M&Y Maintenance and Construction said:"Our core purpose is to support local communities, local businesses, local people and to sustain the environment. We are delighted our donation has already positively impacted local residents and we are looking forward to continuing our work with Weaver Vale Housing Trust as part of our exciting partnership.”

Lyn Hamlett, Employment Horizons Team Leader, Weaver Vale Housing Trust said: “We’re delighted to hear that the son of one of our customers, who recently started college, has been able to access this funding to get the additional specialised clothing and IT equipment he needed. Without these items, he would be unable to fully access the course. This funding will be life-changing for him and a huge weight off the mind of his family.”
