We currently have 11 apprentices at the Trust, which is a mixture between office and trade staff.
Jemima, our Modern Apprentice is the Property Investment Team has been at the Trust for 1 year now. This is her thoughts on her apprenticeship so far..
"Deciding to leave college and get an apprenticeship was a big decision, but one I haven’t once regretted once.
Since getting an apprenticeship at Weaver Vale Housing Trust I’ve learnt so many skills on the job doing things I’ve never done before and now do everyday without trouble. My apprenticeship has allowed me to gain lots of experience within different teams in the trust, which helps to get to know the business from all different aspects.
I have also gained a lot of confidence within the workplace from my apprenticeship, which is going to help me get to where I want to in my career.
As well as learning on the job, I’m also doing my Level 2 in Business Administration which I am due to finish tomorrow.
My advice for a new apprentice would be to take the opportunity to job shadow in different teams, as it helps you understand the organisation from different points of view and also allows you to meet new people."
