Just Rewards – how did Maureen spend her £1,000 prize?

Since it was launched in 2016, Just Rewards has made a real difference to the lives of our customers.

Every winner has used the cash prize of at least £1,000 for something different, from decorating their homes, to treating themselves, friends and family.

One lucky winner who chose the latter was Northwich resident Maureen Mackenzie, who has been a Weaver Vale customer for 32 years.

“I first read about Just Rewards in ‘Your Home’. I thought it was a great story but you never expect to win something like that yourself,” Maureen said.

“A few weeks later I received a phone call telling me I had won! I was a bit suspicious at first, especially with all the stories you hear about cold callers. I was half-tempted to put the phone down but then Weaver Vale agreed to send someone out to talk about Just Rewards and how it works. They also confirmed it with a letter which put my mind at ease.

“It was brilliant. Usually I’m not one for winning things so it was a nice surprise.”

Retired cleaner Maureen will have a busy Christmas this year, especially as she has to buy presents for her three children, five grandchildren and one great grandchild!

And she used her Just Rewards winnings to treat her family to a well-deserved holiday.

Maureen added: “I ended up taking my family on an all-inclusive holiday to Majorca. We went for two weeks and had a fantastic time. It was great to spend quality time with my granddaughter – she really took advantage of the unlimited supply of ice cream!

“The weather was perfect and we went on a few trips and there was plenty for everyone to do. I wouldn’t have been able to afford this without ‘Just Rewards’, it came at the perfect time and I couldn’t be more grateful!”
