Weaver Vale Housing Trust (WVHT) is celebrating the transformation of a former garage site this week. The site, previously a disused row of old garages, has been transformed into a new development of five spacious affordable family homes in Winsford. The development on Dene Drive includes two- and three-bedroom family homes, which were let immediately follow completion to local people under the affordable rent scheme.
Built by PLP Construction for WVHT with grant support from Homes England. The scheme is part of the housing association’s commitment to delivering over 500 affordable new homes in Cheshire by 2023/24.
Wayne Gales, Chief Executive of Weaver Vale Housing Trust, said:
“Weaver Vale Housing Trust has set out a firm commitment to tackling the affordable housing crisis across Cheshire. I am delighted to see this site completed, not only has the scheme brought a disused and derelict site back into use, but it has created much needed high quality affordable homes for rent to local people in Winsford.”
Joanne James at PLP Construction added
“We are really pleased to be able to deliver these houses in partnership with Weaver Vale Housing Trust, the properties have been built to a high specification and are very energy efficient. We hope the residents moving in will be happy with their new homes."
