Board of management
The Board has the sole responsibility for the Trust's overall direction, and for ensuring that we have appropriate staff to achieve our strategy and plans and standards of service.
Our Board of Management reflects a broad and varied cross section, with independent members, councilors and customers.
Membership
The Board consists of 15 Members, who all serve in a voluntary capacity and are unpaid except for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses, such as travel costs.
Membership consists of:
- Five Customer Representatives who are elected by customers.
- Five Council Members who are chosen each year by Vale Royal Borough Council
- Five Independent Board Members
All members are chosen from the community for there skills and are elected by the shareholding members of the Association.
This mix is designed to provide the best possible service to customers with local council involvement, active customer participation, and the active involvement of people who represent the local community, businesses, and professions.
The Role of the Board of Management
The Board acts for and in the name of the Trust, and retains ultimate control over all aspects of the Trust's work and must ensure that its financial and legal responsibilities are fulfilled. The powers of the Board are wide and, although particular functions may be delegated to a sub-committee or to the Executive and staff, the Board retains the responsibility for seeing that those functions are properly carried out.
