Rudheath & Witton Together Million Pound Lottery Project

The Trust’s Community Engagement Team have been involved in a number of activities to assist community members who are involved in the Rudheath and Witton Together project in Northwich. A million pounds of lottery funding has been granted to the area to use directly for sustainable community projects that will bring long term benefits to the Rudheath area. Work carried out by the Trust in Rudheath includes:

  • Supporting local residents to hold and run a Royal Wedding street
    party.
  • Assisting with environmental improvements at Northwich Station for Rudheath and Witton Together Conservation Group.
  • Investigation of complaints at the new play area on Belmont Road.
  • Willow Weaving for the Rudheath and Witton Together Conservation Group at the Dane Valley.
  • Earth sculpture for the Rudheath and Witton Together Conservation Group at the Dane Valley.
  • Hanging basket consultation on Danefield estate.

If you live in the Rudheath area and you want to get involved in this project, get in touch with us on 01606 813421, let us know and we’ll get someone to get back to you.

Rudheath & Witton Together Conservation Group

The Rudheath and Witton Together Conservation Group does some great work that has a direct benefit to Trust neighbourhoods, such as the clearing of rubbish from the ox-bow lake area of the Danefield estate. This area has now been opened up to the public and walkers.

The Group's latest project is the creation of a community orchard at the Dane Valley fisheries, an area that can easily be accessed by the community of Rudheath. The orchard is open to all and the Conservation Group's intention is to be able to provide not only a community facility and somewhere that entertainment can be held, but a source of free fruit to local people in the Rudheath area.

Volunteers from the Trust have helped the group to weave wicker fencing and create soil sculptures.

If you want to get involved with the Rudheath and Witton Conservation Group contact us on 01606 813421 and we’ll put you in touch.
