Tenant Contents Insurance Scheme

Through Weaver Vale Housing Trust you can take out Home Contents Insurance that is exclusively for Trust tenants.

 

We’ve made it simple and affordable to insure your possessions.

 

Your premium is payable alongside your rent over a 48 week period at a minimum cost of 57p if you are over the age of 60, or 85p for all other people. The maximum cost per week is £3..31

 

Summary of Policy Cover

Minimum Sums Insured:

£6,000 for people over the age of 60.

£9,000 for all other tenants.

Maximum Sum Insured:

£35,000

Type of Losses Insured:

Fire, Smoke, Theft, Explosion, Lightning, Storm,

Subsidence, Vandalism and Water Damage.

Accidental Damage:

To television, home computer and home entertainment equipment.

Decorations:

Fixed allowance of 15% of the sum insured.

Emergency Accommodation

And Kennelling of pets:

Up to 20% of the sum insured.

Freezer Contents:

Unlimited

Replacement of external locks

if your keys are stolen:

Unlimited

Theft of Money:

Up to £250

Credit Cards, Cash Cards:

Up to £500 per card

Tenant’s Improvements:

Up to £2,000

Fatal Injury:

£7,500 maximum death benefit

Occupiers and Personal

Liability:

£2,500,000 maximum per claim

Loss of Metered Water, Domestic

Fuel Oil:

Up to £1,000

Special Occasions (e.g. Weddings,

Christmas):

Automatic increase in cover by £1,500
