Independent Retirement Apartment Schemes

Weaver Vale Housing Trust has 10 Independent Retirement Apartments across the borough. 

If you suffer with a disability, medical condition or are 50 years of age or over, but are still able to live independently, perhaps with support from other agencies you are eligible to apply for an Independent Retirement Apartment. Like our ground floor flats and bungalows in the community, these apartments are linked to the 24 hour Response Centre and have the support of the Independent Living Team.

The added benefits of these apartments are the extra security and companionship which these type of premises with communal facilities offer.

Meadow Court is our Independent Retirement Scheme in Frodsham, which is also an Extra Care Scheme. This means that Weaver Vale Housing Trust, working in partnership with Cheshire West & Chester, are able to provide tenants with personal care support, by the dedicated carers who are on site 24 hours a day. The benefits of this scheme is that as a tenant becomes less independent and requires more care, they and their families do not have to worry about having to move out of their home and having to go into residential care.

All the Independent Retirement Schemes have:

24 hour surveillance cameras for added security.

Access to a communal lounge and laundry 

A house manager who can be made available if required to give support and advice to promote independent living

A schemes maintenance handyman to carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks in your apartment, such as changing a light bulb or fixing a curtain pole.

Also

Living in the retirement apartments you are encouraged to take part in the social events that are organised with other service users who live there.

Many apartment schemes also have hairdressing facilities and a mobile hairdresser who holds a salon each week.

•  Sorry, but due to the communal facilities no pets are allowed to be kept in the Independent Retirement Apartment Schemes.

We offer an Information Booklet, available on request by residents in our 10 Retirement Apartments to pass on to their nominated next of kin. The booklet details useful information regarding services available in their new home.

Please note this booklet is for information purposes regarding the services the Independent Living Team provide. Due to customer confidentiality information regarding the service that is in place or details held by Weaver Vale Housing Trust cannot be divulged without consent from the customer to whom the information is pertinent to, for this reason this booklet cannot be requested directly by the family member or carer
